New York River Watch is fiscally sponsored by Good Work Institute, a 501(c)(3) public charity
Landfill leachate, a toxic garbage soup laced with harmful chemicals, is polluting New York’s rivers, streams, and drinking water sources at an alarming rate. Through our Leachate Loophole Campaign, New York River Watch is shining a light on this hidden crisis and driving real change.
Over half a billion gallons of landfill leachate are discharged annually—much of it into rivers that serve as drinking water—we’re calling on concerned NYS residents like you to help us close this dangerous regulatory loophole. Your tax-deductible donation supports critical research, advocacy, and coalition building to stop this flow of this pollution at the source.
Join our bold vision by “adopting” a gallon of leachate—symbolically offsetting pollution while funding real solutions. Whether it’s $50 for 1 gallon, $250 for 5 gallons, or a custom amount, every dollar brings us closer to clean, safe water for all.
Together, we can stop poisoning our water and start building a more sustainable, equitable future. Donate today and be part of the movement to reclaim New York’s rivers—one gallon at a time.
Good Work Institute will accept donations online, or by check or ACH transfers. Cash donations are not accepted.
Speaking request: We’d love to help spread the word and are available to present to your group—either in person or via Zoom—about the leachate loophole. As a small, fiscally sponsored program, we kindly suggest a sliding scale donation of $250–$500 per event to support our work.
